FAQ's

Q. Why would I want to unlock my phone?

A. Unlocking your phone allows you to use any SIM Card from any network in your phone. This may allow you access to cheaper calls, or extras such as free text messages depending on the network. You will also be able to use SIM Cards from local providers if you go abroad, giving you access to reasonably priced calls. Finally, it will add value to your phone should you choose to sell it, unlocked phones are much more desirable for the reasons described above.

Q. How do I tell if my phone is currently locked?

A. Swap your current SIM Card with one from another phone, and if you receive a message such as 'Phone Restricted', 'SIM Not Valid' or 'SIM not accepted' when you switch it on, then your phone is most probably locked.

If you receive error messages such as those listed below, then your phone is certainly locked.

'Insert Correct SIM'
'SIM card registration failed'

Q. Can you unlock my phone?

A. Go to our unlocking page, select your phone make and take a look at the software options available to see if we can unlock your phone. If your phone is not on a list, then you can request it, simply email us, and we will do our best to provide you with an unlock code for your phone.

Q. How do you unlock my phone?

A. Unlocking your phone using our service is a simple procedure. You buy the software or codes, we send you the item. The software will provide you with the code you need. You then need to key this in using the keypad on your phone. As soon as it has been entered, your phone will be unlocked - it is as easy as that.

Q. Do I need any technical knowledge?

A. None at all - we provide full, easy to follow instructions for entering the unlock code given to you. This is all entered using the phones keypad.

Q. Will unlocking my phone do any harm?

A. No, unlocking your phone merely removes the network and SIM locks imposed by the network operator. However, it may invalidate your phones warranty under certain providers and/or break terms and conditions of the contract held between you and your service provider. We advise you to check your paperwork to see if this concerns you.

Q. How do I find my phones IMEI number?

A. This can be found by entering *#06# on your phones keypad, and the 15-digit number will be displayed on screen. Alternatively, the number can often be found on a sticker underneath the battery.

The IMEI number is the International Mobile Equipment Identifier, which uniquely identifies your phone. The unlock code is generated from this number, so supplying us with the correct number is crucial, otherwise our unlock code will not work.
